You Are Enough

Struggling with chronic pain can sometimes make you feel less of a person; that you are undeserving of good things or even love. Nothing could be further from the truth. Regardless of how hurt you are, or how many times you fall apart, you are not defective as a person. The parts that make you who you are will survive any hurt, your kindness, your humor, your compassion, your courage, and your strength.

The fact that you wake up every morning, and that you have the strength to get up, even if you can’t put a smile on your face is proof. Give yourself the credit you deserve, no one can walk in your shoes; you’re the only one who knows how difficult even the simplest of tasks can be.

You don’t have to pretend to be okay all the time. Even the healthiest of persons have good and bad days; you’re allowed to have bad days.

You’re allowed to say no to uncertain plans, allowed to cancel on short notice without feeling guilty, allowed to know your own limits and respect them.

Don’t blame yourself, sometimes things just happen, and when your body doesn’t heal the way you’d like it to, it’s not a punishment. Like your mind, your body is doing the best it can. We don’t always understand and appreciate how our body chooses to cope with difficult environments and situations. No one is happy when they have a fever, but every fever has its purpose. Take the time to care for your body, it’s the only one you’ll get in this lifetime.

Most of all, remember you’re doing the best you can. So smile on the good days, and love yourself on the bad ones. And though the sun can’t shine every day, it doesn’t mean you can’t dance in the rain. 778-554-2050,
